October is Disability Access and Belonging Month!
During October, Disability and Access is excited to be supporting the Disability Cultural Center in hosting and promoting a variety of disability-related opportunities. Previously celebrated by Disability and Access as Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month, with the establishment of the Disability Cultural Center (DCC), we are excited to make a shift to celebrating Disability Access and Belonging Month (DAB Month). We invite you to find a way to be part of celebrating Disability Access and Belonging Month as an individual, as well as within your classes, groups, teams, and networks. Review the DAB month calendar of events on the DCC website and choose how you will participate in Disability Access and Belonging Month! For a full list of disability-related events, visit the DCC Events page .
Priority Registration
Priority registration is set for Monday, October 30th from 2:00pm to midnight. You will need to check your Registration Information Sheet to ensure you have the correct registration time and have any registration holds cleared before then. We encourage you to sign up for academic advising as early as possible to ensure you don’t have delays in accessing priority registration. Please be on the lookout for additional information from our office!
Course Load Reduction
Undergraduate students who need to drop a course for disability-related reasons must submit a Course Load Reduction (CLR) application to our office by Monday, October 23rd by 5:00pm. The application and additional information can be found here: https://healthyhorns.utexas.edu/medicalwithdrawals.html. You should contact your Access Coordinator or access@austin.utexas.edu if you have additional questions regarding the application process. The university drop deadline is also Monday, October 23rd.
Check out the D&A Bulletin for resources, events, paid opportunities, and educational offerings on campus and in the community!
D&A encourages you to reach out to your assigned Access Coordinator with any questions and concerns throughout the semester!
