SSD is excited to welcome three new Disabilities Services Coordinators to our team! Meet our new staff members below.
Stavonna Bello
Stavonna Bello is an undergraduate and graduate alumnus of UT Austin. She has most recently completed her Master’s degree in Counselor Education and worked as a Teaching Assistant, Graduate Assistant, and Senior Student Associate with the university. Through these pursuits, Stavonna has grown to have a passion for college students, education, and personal growth/development. Reflecting on her time at UT, she describes herself as loving the university and its environment so much she couldn’t fathom working anywhere else. Stavonna is incredibly excited to assist and learn from students in her new role. In her time away from work she enjoys reading, exercising, spending quality time with loved ones, and taking care of her plant children.
John McLaughlin
John McLaughlin was born and raised in New Jersey. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Caldwell University and received his Master’s degree in Social Work from NYU. John has most recently worked as a therapist for individuals in long-term group home supervised care. He is passionate about working with mental health awareness, substance use awareness, and advocacy for students. He loves to travel throughout the US and abroad but in his free time loves to go hiking and spend time with family and his two dogs(Nugget and Irwin).
Chris Pinzone
Chris Pinzone received his B.A. from Stony Brook University in Psychology and English before receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia. Prior to his employment at UT Austin, he previously worked as a School Psychologist in Tennessee and as an LSSP in Texas serving students from pre-K through high school. His research interests include social and emotional well-being, data-based decision making, and school completion. Chris cares deeply about being a resource for any person who is underserved or underrepresented. He loves to go hiking and camping, enjoys photography, and can think of nothing better than spending time with his wife and two dogs.
