Life has changed dramatically for all of us in the last few weeks. As you finish your semester in an online format here we want to share some important updates to SSD services and university resources.
Texas OneStop
If you have questions about university resources, what tools you need for online classes or how to learn best in an online format, Texas OneStop has answers and resources for helping you finish the semester strong.
Updated Academic Calendar
Due to COVID-19, many dates and deadlines at UT have been changed. To stay up to date, visit the UT academic calendar where changes and updates have been noted.
SSD Operations
SSD Staff are working remotely and some of the services we provide have changed. Please check out our updated operations webpage so you know what to expect from SSD for the remainder of the semester.
Accommodations in Online Classes
You still have a right to equal access to your classes but the accommodations you need may have changed. SSD has created a webpage to help you and your instructor consider how your current accommodations may translate to an online class. Contact your Disabilities Services Coordinator if you have questions or need support.
Updated: Priority Registration
Priority registration for undergraduate students will be April 27th from 2pm-midnight. This is one week later than planned due to COVID-19. If you are approved for priority registration as an accommodation you will be receiving emails with more instructions.
Q Drop and Withdrawal Deadlines
Students will be given until Friday, May 29th, one week after final grades are submitted, to Q-drop a course, to withdraw with a W, or to change a course to Pass/Fail, overriding existing deadlines. All these actions must be initiated through your college, not through SSD. Please note that all Q-drops will be treated as “substantive, non-academic course drops,” which means that they will not count against the maximum of six allowed Qs. Students are required to speak with their academic advisor in their college before taking any action.
Employment Resources
Graduating and wondering… what’s next? Students starting the job search amid Coronavirus may be concerned about a decrease in job opportunities or having to go through a virtual interview process. AbilityLinks is a resource for disability-inclusive employers to post current job openings and opportunities, so students can feel more assured that lack of accessibility will not be an additional challenge to face during this time. Check out the SSD Website for additional employment and career resources!
